HOUSTON, May 17, 2024  - Ketjen Corporation, a leader in catalyst and specialty chemicals manufacturing, today announced the appointment of Shane Carr to Chief Operating Officer (COO) effective today. Carr has been serving in an interim COO capacity since January of this year. 

In this role as COO, Carr will oversee the company’s manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, process technology and engineering organizations and will report directly to Ketjen’s President, Michael Simmons. 

“As Ketjen continues to focus on operational and commercial excellence, Shane’s experience, leadership, and track record of achieving results make him an ideal fit for this role and will make him a valuable addition to the company’s executive team,” said Michael Simmons, President, Ketjen.  

Carr brings nearly 20 years of industry experience and has held a number of leadership positions of increasing responsibility with Ketjen. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University and earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
